 The ICAO English language proficiency requirement was subject of a workshop with participation of the EUROCONTROL agency. Criticism was voiced on the slow reaction of air navigation service providers worldwide in light of the approaching implementation date in March 2008. Lack of information and training is obvious in many countries, creating unrest amongst controllers. IFATCA continues to lobby international organisations in order to achieve timely compliance.
